I have been hibernating for awhile from blogging tasks since the opportunities got really low and rare. Besides that, I have been keeping myself active physically; enjoying most of the outdoors with my adventuresome family. I just feel its worthwhile to get some exercise going rather than staying home and spending a lot of time on the computer. This is just my personal opinion. I know a lot of people who turn to computer for many different purposes and reasons. And its fine, if it makes you happy; I can't dispute enough, it's not my business.

Trips To The Public Library

I can't be happy enough when I learned about the kid's DVD's and books that I borrow for Cassy and even the many interesting books I found for myself in the Euless library.

A lot of kid's videos and dvd's are available to loan for at least 7 days and you can renew them, should you decide to keep them for a little while. Cassy loves a lot of musical songs these days and she's been learning and even singing along. She loves Barney, Cookie Monster, Dacky, Elmo, Elmer, and many more....

These videos really stimulate learning and keeps kids busy while giving their parents a little time for themselves. They can be spendy too, if you buy them at the store (which I find it very practical borrowing them at the library) .

You know, the kid's attention span is not very long and before you know it, they will be interested in other stuff. The library worked out well for us-something to think about!!!;-)

Family Time!!

Last weekend, our family from Kentucky made a short visit to see us. My sister- in law Katharine and her family ( together with her husband Erick, and daughters Noel & Chloe) came to see us briefly on their way to visit Erick's mom in Killeen.

We caught up with them on Saturday morning (and Kevin had to be at work);I invited them over for lunch. I had some Filipino foods that I shared with them. I was glad to know that they liked the food and we all had a great time.

Cassy can't be too happy seeing her cousins and having playmates around. It was just fun seeing the cousins re-acquainted. Noel just turned 3 in May 23 while Chloe turned a year in May 29. It was August last year when I last saw them. I really had a great time catching up with them.

We initially planned to head to the pool but on that "fateful day", it had some maintenance issues. While it was hot outside, we enjoyed ourselves playing Wii Sports and doing Wii Fit (it really is fun when you do it together with family like a family tournament or something..)Erick was playing his way to get a pro status in boxing and he really had a great work out on that day!!:-)

Around 6pm, we headed to our cousin's Nancy and Micah's place to spend some time with the gang. The girls finally had their chance to submerge in the refreshing water through the inflated pool at their backyard. Aunt Susan treated us for pizza and ice cream for dinner.

On Sunday, Kevin finally had his day off and got to spend sometime with his sister Katharine and Kat's family. We had Mexican food for lunch and headed to the recreational pool in Chisholm Park in Hurst.

The girls had a great time feeding the ducks in that neat park there and then later on, we headed to the water park (which was really awesome by the way!) Got to spend some hours there and cooled off before Kat and the gang started driving to Killeen.

I am definitely glad to spend some time with them. It probably wasn't ample time but I was glad that it worked out well knowing Kevin's crazy schedule. We'll see them again in Branson, Missouri in August before long-for another and bigger family get together! I can't wait and definitely anticipating to see everyone there!!

Unbearable Heat Wave

The Summer just started yet the unbearable heat wave has quickly reached it's peak so far!! It's definitely an irony in Texas because most people hibernate in the Summer and get out during winter ( it's not your typical winter season out here-pretty mild!!!)

Anyway, been hanging out in the pool to cool off with my cutie daughter Cass! We have checked out different water parks which we love doing the most lately! I think my skin tone has darkened a lot but hey I enjoy too much!!

Mommy and Daddy's Little Swimmer

Cassy's in the pool a lot these days as it's the fondest activity she is much indulged to. We have been taking her there and she sure loves it each time! What amazes me the most is that she's not scared to go into the water at all.

We got her float and all those tubes that will help her to go around the water but more often than not, she refuses to wear them and instead walk into the pool by herself. She gets under the water really well. Therefore, I just have to make sure I am staying close with her.

She's getting swimming lessons with her dad at least 3 times a week which is a good thing, gets her used into the water and also gives way to daddy-daughter time. It makes her really hungry for a big meal after wards (which I like the most-no more dinner battle and a restful night!!)

Her dad said it's the best time to teach her while she's still young. And honestly, I am convinced that she has to learn and it's been giving her positive results!!! She's enjoying while learning to swim like a fish.;-)

It's Aunt Sue's Birthday!

We just got home after bowling in Main Event in Grapevine. It's Aunt Susan's birthday and they thought for a change, we would have rather a more active celebration by changing the venue. So, everybody came at 6:30 and had a big dinner and started the 3-hour bowling session.

It was definitely fun! I gotta do more practice to get better at the real bowling since I only seem to do well only in Wii Bowling.heheh. It wasn't for a competitive game but it was rather a family activity which we all had fun!!

Hubby's Home

It felt like forever to have Kevin home! I mean, I see him every morning before he takes off work and every night when he gets home from work, but that's just pretty much it. I mean, we used to spend so much time together during weekends and he's other days off. But now he barely gets 2 straight days off even on weekends because of his tasks at work.

Once Summer kicks in, we are anticipating for 3-day off for him, (that means he has to work 4/10's) in order to compensate time. He's definitely working hard these days as expectations are high at work. He just really have to deal with it and hopefully it gets better in the Fall/Winter time. Thankfully, he has a great team that he counts on well for teamwork!

Today, it's Monday and he has a one day off. And he takes off again tomorrow. It's getting old to me after awhile, especially that I am used to spending time with him. He misses a lot from Cassy,too.

Buy hey, somebody has to pay the bills and in that case-it's on him!!My poor (dada) hubby!!

Perfect Day To Be Outside

It's been awhile since I had the guts to go outside because of the Swine Flu scare. It's hard not to panic or at least be worried because of the fact that it can be fatal. Anyway, today I finally got out of the house and decided to take my little Cass to the park. It's nice and sunny today, felt like 77F outside and it doesn't get better than that.

I thought I'd enjoy and just explore the park once again. True enough, Cassy had a great time. She headed to the slides, swings and was a busy bee picking up the pebbles and making a mini-castle. She's definitely getting to be wiser each day. I am just so proud of my little girl. Thankfully, she's been healthy and strong-my constant prayers to God and for my whole family!

Way To Go Girlfriends!

Remembering my days back in college, I had a group of friends ( namely Ann, Crislyn, Maritess, Peachy,Vina and Rene) that I used to hang out a lot. They were my classmates, closest friends and doormates back in the University of the Philippines-Diliman days.

We all took our pre-law degree together as I was planning to get a law degree then. Being a social activitist/talker/empathatic for victims of injustice and so on ( I had all my motivation back then). Along the way, after completing my degree, I had a change of plan and threaded a different career path.

While these girls pursued their dreams. Yet, we used to make a point to have some girlfriends date together at least once or twice a week. Since I got here in the States, we are still consistently communicating. I must give Maritess and Peachy a lot of credits since they give me first hand updates about the girls. While we also send SMS or talk on Skype.

Shortly after I arrived in the States in the year 2006. Crislyn and I hooked up and met in Portland, Oregon. She was sent out to represent their company in the Philippines. She went back home and continued law school while she's working.

Years gone by and before we knew it. All of my five girlfriends are now licensed lawyers. They all passed the licensing exam and took their formal oath on April 28. I am just so proud of what they have come to achieve. They're still the same girls I used to hanged out with, very spontaneous , never tedious and could be crazy at times. Way to go girls!! What can I say; no guts, no glory!!! Congratulations!!

Can't wait to be reunited and spend time with you guys! I know they're too anxious to see us especially meeting Cassy for the first time since they're all Cass' godmothers!

She's Growing Well!

Yesterday, Cassy had her 18 months well child exam! Gosh, can't believe she's a year and a half old already! She's becoming to be a little person more than being a baby ( i know she's not a baby anymore!) No matter what, she will always be mom and dad's apple of the eye!! I am just amazed how much she has absorbed learning a lot of different things!!

Anyway, her check up went really well! She's 100 percentile on her height, and she's 65 percentile on her weight ( she's getting to be a picky eater, that's why!) Her head circumference is on the right measurement where it is supposed to be for her age! To sum it all, she's growing well according to her pediatrician.

She also had her last shot of Hepa-B, which to our surprise, never heard a peep when the nurse gave it! But it must hurt her because she was cranky the whole day and felt a little warm!

And today, she's back to herself. Running around, messing around and just keeping mommy busy!!

Friends Get Together

Yesterday after Cassy had her pediatrician appointment, we headed to Jo's house. I spent most of the day there along with Ate Nita (whose babysitting Amber at the moment). As we anticipated we had too much food to eat and never ending "chika-chikka."

We enjoyed some salted fish, fish escabeche, beef soup, beef steak, buko pandan and sweet rice. It's always like this whenever two or more Filipinas gather; it's safe to imply that we're big eaters (BIG GRIND!:-)) Really though, nothing is more satisfying when you eat "the familiar foods or the so called "cultural foods."

Later on, we watched "Wowowee", (noontime's favorite filipino show) and then, we watched a movie by John Lloyd and Sarah Geronimo. We were just happy to see each other and be able to spend time. Always gives me a good reason to get out of the house and do some fun with good friends. Next week, will be Jo's turn to visit, so what can I say, I am anticipating for it.

Getting Worried of This Bug!

It's probably been a week since I have last taken Cassy to the park because of my worries that she might catch this infamous bug which is the Swine flu. As a precaution, I always make sure to keep our home as tidy as possible and of course, washing hands each time really helps to kill this virus that's in the air right now.

It's scary since there is no vaccine made available yet, which will aim to provide immunity to people from getting sick. According to the facts, kids who are under 5 years old, the seniors, and people with chronic are the ones who are susceptible to getting this bug.

I know that I share these sentiments along with other parents. And I am keeping my fingers crossed that my family will be safe from catching anything.

Well I guess, it's time to do some updates here. I've been neglecting this blog for awhile now. I have been busy with too many things these days that could hardly find time to sit down and get this blog some updates.

The pictures were taken at Glass Cactus, Gaylord Texan in Grapevine last Saturday. It was one of my good friend's 28th birthday-May Ann Owens. Instead of a get together at home, she decided to do something different this time and asked if we could go clubbing. Since she gave us enough time, we accommodated her invitation and we were able to arrange with our babysitter!!!:-)

We sure had a blast together with wonderful Pinay friends!!

I have been wanting to visit Florida. For one reason, my brother-in-law (my sister's husband) is there working to support his family back home. I meant to visit him long time ago and I just couldn't find the right timing to do so.

I thought I'd mentioned that today we got a surprise package from one of our friends in Portland, Oregon. Jared and Carm sent us a pickled mango from Guam! I had been craving for these mangos (very crispy, crunchy and tasted like P.I. young mangos)-the longest time! I remember how much I drooled for this stuff when I was pregnant.

Jared's mom visited over and brought this goodies with her! She prepared the pickled mangos herself with the real vinegar (fermented from the coconut) and good stuff in there! They thought of us and sent us a container! I couldn't stop eating; I swear, I could finish them in one sitting if I would!! I decided to share some to Jo and have Annie try, too (whose on her way to giving birth anytime soon)!!whew!!!

Anyway, I am overjoyed with such great friends that we have, despite the distance, the strong bond of friendship is still there. We can't wait for their visit soon!!

What A Fantastic Weekend!

Hubby had a 3-day weekend and we sure had a blast maximizing each day! On Friday, we met Kevin's cousin Becky with her lovely family, who drove all the way from Illinois to spend the Easter weekend with us. Of course, hubby got more relatives out here that made the occasion more fun and wonderful! Dear Aunt Susan made a great Easter dinner on Saturday night, which tasted really yummy! If I had to rate it from 1-10 (10 being the highest), I'd say it was 11!!That's how great Aunt Susan's cooking!!

Today, we attended the Fil-am group Easter gathering in Boy's Ranch, Bedford, which turned out to be really FUN!! FUN!! FUN!! It started at 10am and ended around 6:30pm! There were about 190 people in attendance. Before the occasion preceded, a mass was held to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus! As many as the people who were there, it turned to be solemn and well-observed!

Afterwhich, the big Easter dinner were shared amongst the attendees. Take note, there was a big roasted pig served, being the much anticipated food and a lot, lot more! Afterwards, the kids had games and the anticipated "Easter egghunt." My darling Cassy had a great time filling her basket with Easter eggs (with lots of candies inside). I didn't want her to have too much sweets, so candies went to Mom and Dad;-)

As usual, we had fun dancing and endless conversation! Ohh boy, I can't get enough of this get together as it's truly fun! I made a lot of friends that I wouldn't realize I'd came across ( I am talking about good friends here;-))

To sum it up, we had a blast weekend! I am just so delighted to be able to spend quality time with my family and friends! Hope y'all had a great Easter!

Pictures of my girl Cass enjoying outdoor activities (being on the swing, slides, climbing and many more).. Since it's been nice out here, Cass and Mommy are outside everyday! Spooky, our dog used to be the alpha dog in our family since she really has this territorial attitude in her. But ever since Cassy was born, she has learned to accept that she comes after Cassy. Spring Has Sprung

Spring has sprung- a perfect time to be able to do more things outside the house! Since it's been getting a lot nicer out here in N. Texas, I have been outside every day (for as long as it's not raining) with my daughter Cassy. She's definitely an outdoor little person like her parents. We go for walks in the trail and of course, bring Cass to the park. She loves the swing, slides and the most interesting part-meeting with other little kids. She's very good for a little girl whose not used to be around with many kids. She gives hugs and kisses. And she has been very gentle and sweet. I just love seeing her having fun.

It's just too bad that I can't manage taking our two dogs (Spook and Mojie) with us. So, their daddy makes up for them and usually takes them for a walk at night. Nothing much is new, just enjoying being a mom, and a wife.

It's Been A Year In Texas

Time has gone by quick, before I knew it, it has been a year since we have moved in Texas from Oregon. So far, I am loving it. Many things have changed and most of those changes were things that are likeable at least.

For one, I love the weather. It's definitely mild for the winter season. Although Texas as it is, could get those crazy weather especially when it gets nicer, then suddenly the temperature drops down to 30F or so. Of course, it's extreme heat in the Summer. But as the saying goes, you could only learn to appreciate what it has to offer for you to be happy. So, on that note, I am pretty happy:-)

My dear daughter Cassy will be two in October 31st. She's now walking, running, obviously talking with her own language cues and I just love seeing her reaching every milestone. Definitely I feel lucky to witness that up daily. I love her too much! She's my world so as her dad( aron di magmahay.heheh.)

I have made several friends and they help a lot in so many ways. The social support, knowing that you're not alone are priceless. As another saying goes; "No man is an island."Attending fil-am parties, mingling with people, learning from their own experiences or the so called social networking are overwhelming. Truthfully, I have come to accept that wherever my family (hubby Kevin and daughter Cassy) are, that's where home for me!!

Although it would be hypocrite to say that I don't miss my country-Philippines! But this is the decision as well as the lifetime commitment I have made a vow to keep. Obviously, I am seeing it's worth and I am very happy. Someday I wil visit my homeland, maybe when Cassy is able to remember and appreciate my humble island Philippines. I am also just glad that I get to see my family back in the Philippines, at least on the webcam and we talk on a frequent basis. It's a big relief seeing and hearing from them.

Routine is pretty much the same, only that I have some good friends who sometimes pick me up and drop me off: wherever there's a get together or even just a plain breakfast or lunch at their home or vice versa. It would mean, maybe there's a few like 3 or 4 filipinas that I meet for lunch or breakfast or whatever. Unya pag mangaon manggikinamut dayon. Hay langit kaayo. Unya katong mga tawo nga way kaarte arte bisan tuod og dugay na diri and yet, they remain to be as humble and kind. You have to be nice to people, so that they can treat you back nicely and that's my ground for making and keeping friends.

Once in awhile I drop Kevin off to the train Station in Fort Worth. So, those are the days I am free to get out of the house, maybe meet some friends, do some errands or just enjoy my break time away from home. It's the feeling of indepence that I am loving. Thanks to my satellite friend that I can count on for directions;-) It's pretty sleek!

So far, we are adjusting very well in Texas and we're liking to be here!:-)Looking forward for more years, hopefully we'll be here for good!:-)

Couldn't seem to have any motivation updating this blog. By the time, I plan on doing so, I get so lazy and leave the computer. Besides that, I got too many things in my hand. Now that I feel the urge to update, might as well get this done;-)

My daughter really loves to be outside these days so does mommy;-) She's definitely "on the go." Can't get enough of the swings, slides and meeting other playmates. I am happy to see her growing up daily.

Anyway, my dear friend Jo with Amber came over yesterday. Like the usual, we had a "chikka" marathon and too much food to eat. We then, decided to go to the pool and submerged into the cool, refreshing water. Afterwards, we headed to the park and did some walking pushing on their strollers; our lil kiddos-Amber and Cassy.

It was just a wonderful time seeing Jo. We literally talk everyday on the phone but nothing beats seeing each other and being able to do stuff together. It will be my turn to pay her a visit next week.

Looks like our weekend will be busy again since we got a few gathering invitation from our fil-am couple friends tonight and on Saturday.

Despite the busy schedule and unforeseen incident of our other friend grieving; Jo and I made it a point to push through our plans to give a Baby Shower to Annie and Tony for their little bundle of joy-Abigail!

Tony did a great job keeping Annie out of the loop until yesterday afternoon. Annie only knew that they will come by in Jo's house (where her baby shower was hosted) to get her stuff she left from Jo's birthday party last time.

So, we all gathered and anxiously waited for the couple... Soon as they knocked and opened the door for them, Annie was so surprised to see a bunch of people greeting her "SURPRISE!!" It was quite a spontaneous plan but turned to be a great occasion.

Annie and Tony got great shower gifts from everybody who attended. Afterwards, we all enjoyed the night singing karaoke via Magic Sing brought by Leah. As usual, the boys had their own group so were the ladies. As the night progressed, what so funny was, before we knew it the boys had the microphone and they were the ones singing...Just a wonderful night to spend with good friends!!

To Annie and Tony; CONGRATULATIONS and GOODLUCK to the both of you! I know dai Annie, you will be a great mother to Abigail and definitely parenthood will take you to a far and long journey. Last night, got a call from Marie around 9:o'clock when she told me the bad news; Ate Fe's husband Bill died at 6pm yesterday. We drove to Ate Fe's house in Coppell and gathered for moral support along with other good friends. Out of respect to the family, I will skip the details of his death and instead offer our sincerest hopes and prayers for strength to Ate Fe and the two kids Kelly and Sam whom Bill has left.

We were supposed to have our festive celebration on Saturday (Feb. 14) in honor of Cupid but due to the unforeseen circumstance, we are canceling the event.

My heart goes to Ate Fe, who is such a loving wife, a nurturing mother and a kind friend. May Bill's soul rest in peace!

Weekend Get Together With Friends

A spontaneous plan turned out to be a get together last weekend when Jimmy called Kevin, and asked if we could meet for lunch at ChuckeCheese's. It was my first time to go there, so I barely had an idea what to expect. Although, Annie gave me a heads-up since Tony would take his kids there a lot!

Tomorrow will be another fun day for Cassy and Mommy! Kevin has a 2-day training/seminar in Great Wolf Lodge Water Park Resorts in Grapevine. We actually drove in there a few times and it's quite huge!! It looks really great from the outside seeing through the big water parks and the giant lodge itself.He's been wanting to bring us there yesterday but I was sort of reluctant and I had an appointment. And today, hubby finally got me convinced to go.

We'll hang out in the water park tomorrow and I have no doubt Cassy will love it as she's a water kiddo! Looks like we're going to pursue her swimming class again in the Summer as it will help keeping up with her skills.

Have fun viewing my daughter Cassy walking! Ever since I never try to push her to do things until she's ready to do it. So, there she is now walking-another milestone of her toddlerhood!!! She also has now a complete set of teeth! And she's off her bottle and use sippy cup for her milk!

Here are some photos from Marie's birthday! On January 21st was one of my friends birthday. Something spontaneous came to thought (Bryan's idea) to play bowling in Main Event. He called Kevin and asked if we could go to celebrate Marie's birthday. Luckily, we were free to go and had a sitter available for Cassy, so we went.

I must say I sucked at this game big time. I had been playing the Wii-Bowling but not the real thing for awhile. Anyway, it was all about fun and we all just had a great time!!

She's Becoming A Big Girl

My little girl Cassy has really grown so much. Every day she's like a sponge curiously learning every single object as she progresses in her development skills. This morning I got into her room around 7:30 in the morning, although I'd usually get her up at 8:00 o'clock. I decided to just surprise her and you know being a mom, to see her every morning when I wake is something that I always anticipate and look forward to.

Anyway, I called her name and she lazily opened her eyes, looked at me and went back to sleep. It's quite unusual since most of the time, whenever I get into her room she wants to be held right away. But today turned out to be different. So, I just left her in her room. I could not stop peeking at her while she's in her crib lying down. Goodness, my girl is definitely changing! I just wanna cuddle her and shower her with so much girl!What happened to my child who was once a newborn, very dependent creature! I LOVE YOU TOO MUCH CASSY!

Sick Again; Round 2

Since the time I catch a cold I have been very anxious to get rid of it. I am just so tired of being sick and the fact that I could pass it on to Cassy. I was feeling so much better a week ago and then hubby started getting sick and perhaps passed it back to me. I think part of it also is the unpredictable temperature that goes up and drastically gets too cold.

I feel so terrible right now, my head is pounding while my nose is very stuffy. I have a worst nasal and sinus congestion. I just feel so tired and my body is quite aching. Goodness gracious, can't wait til I feel better.

Fun Day

What a nice beautiful day! North Texas got a high of 75F today which sounds really great for winter season.Can't beat that, I guess! Jo came over in our place, so after our big meal as usual (grilled fish, tortang talong, humba and tanghong), we headed for a walk in the trail and then checked out shopping stores nearby our place. The kids just love to be outside. Amber (Jo's daughter) fell asleep in her stroller while Cassy was wide awake the whole time. She did love the park and just enjoyed being in the swing right there. She just loves it too much!

That's why, whenever it gets nice outside just like today, I always find time to take her to the park. I just love it there as I get to meet other moms with their kiddos and have a different environment which soothes the dullness of being just at home. Cassy's becoming a toddler has really changed a lot of her interests and give her enormous energy that makes her able to do more fun activities outside. In fact, she gets anxious to leave whenever somebody says "lets go bye2x)." It's her cue that she's going to go outside. What a smart little girl!! Anyway, we had a 5-mile walk today which was quite a lot for a walk but definitely we had a blast!

Next week will be my turn to pay her a visit and I can't wait for that!.

Sad Days

Today, we took our two dogs to the veterinarian for their routine check-up; got Spooky's rabies shot since it's past due and have Mojo's eyes checked for he seems to have a vision problem. To our surprise, our fears were confirmed. Our dear Mojo is now blind and has both eye cataracts and glaucoma in his left eye. He's using he's other senses to be able to do basic things such as eating, walking, etc. It saddens us very much since our dogs are part of our family, just like any other family who has dogs. I can really tell how the bad news deeply affected hubby since he has taken care of them since they were just 10 days old. Mojo is now 9 years old while Spooky is 10.

They also have been my great companion from the time I got here in the States when I didn't know anybody. I really love them and care for them very much! I just wish well for our two dogs esp. Mojo who needs it the most! We are contemplating on having his eye cataracts remove. But for now, we'll have to wait for the ophthalmologists advise on what's the best thing to do. If he'll come out safe, we will definitely take a chance just to give his vision back!!

Holidays With Family

It's been sometime I had my last post since my husband's family were in town to spend the holidays with us. It was definitely a great opportunity to get together and spend some family time. Of course, I am very grateful to my mom-in law Phyllis and sister-in law Jill who took care of Cassy and did babysit her a lot. It's just nice to get some break and feel that I was getting a family support system.
Anyhow, our Christmas and New Year's celebration turned out to be festive and warm! I hope you guys had a wonderful celebration,too!

Time has really gone by quick! Much of our anticipation and excitement to have our folks around who celebrated the holidays with us; before we knew it, it's time to go and it's over. Just can't help not to miss them since they really are kindhearted, loving and warm individuals. They are the easiest people to get along with. I am just so glad to be a part of their great family. No wonder, hubby has such a great heart and very good upbringing! His parents must have done a great job on him so as his other siblings! Anyhow, I can't wait to have them back! 84F For the High Today in Texas

It's amazing to know that amidst the freezing coldness brought by the winter season in most places everywhere, Texas today got a high of 84F. I just heard from my parents-in law who just flew back to Kansas, then drove back to Iowa. The road turned out to be very icy and the condition's really bad. Gladly, they arrived safely back.
We even had a nice time in the lake letting our dear dogs ran off leash. They definitely enjoyed their fun time outside and so are we.
At least, Texas gets cold front here and there but does not seem to stick very long. There's always a few surprises here and there weather wise.Hmm...:-)

I Feel Sick Today

I am just so glad that our folks are here already! It's been wonderful to have them around! We just definitely enjoy being around with each other! We do play cards and different games which is something we look forward to doing.
It's just unfortunate that I feel sicky today. I have been having cough and colds. I am truly grateful to my mother-in law Phyllis and sister-in law Jill whose helping me out taking care of Cassy! More Parties at the Fil-Am Gathering

Last Saturday, another Fi-Am get together was held hosted by Beng and James in Grand Prairie. It was much more intimate as it was in a residential venue packed with Fil-Am couples and the kiddos like it has always been.
It was also a perfect opportunity for me to meet a co-blogger LeyteStar or Marly, her real name. She came along with her husband Steve and her other friend Norri. I was very glad that they went despite the short notice. In a way, it seems exciting not to plan things ahead of time especially when things just turned out spontaneously. It was evidently fun as the night unfolds! It was a cold, freezing night but didn't bother the Fil-am couples to be in attendance.
We had the exchanging of gifts from the kiddos to the adults as part of the traditional Christmas gift giving. Of course, the authentic foods prepared by the hosts and brought by the Fil-am couples. What a great fun with bottomless authentic Filipino food!
It was indeed a wonderful night. It felt like "home" seeing a bunch of Filipinos, meeting with new and old friends, chitchatting, and more!It's worth savoring the moment, glad to be there!
